Journalist Anjana Om Kashyap and popular educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, have resolved their dispute over allegedly defamatory comments made against the news anchor, the Delhi High Court was informed on Wednesday.

Justice Tushar Rao Gedela had previously referred the parties to mediation and appointed Senior advocate Rajshekhar Rao as the mediator. The Court today lauded Rao for reaching a settlement in the case.

“You have done something which was almost impossible. As I said, these things should not come to Court,” Justice Gedela said.

The other defendants who have also settled the dispute are teachers Babita Tyagi and Arvind Bhadauriya as well as three ‘X’ users Manish_Yadav234, SamKhasa and Abhimanyu1305.

However, the Court was informed that negotiations with 4 PM News have failed so far. Justice Gedela urged 4 PM News to consider settling the matter and directed another round of mediation. The Court was also told that settlement with teacher Abhinay Sharma was pending.

The defamation case filed by Kashyap and TV Today Network in June accused Khan and several others of making defamatory comments following her criticism of the growing influence of "star teachers".

Apart from Khan, teachers like Abhinay Sharma, Babita Tyagi and Arvind Bhadauriya were also made defendants in the suit. Certain X handles and 4PM News Network were sued by Kashyap and TV Today.

According to the suit, the controversy began after Kashyap hosted a debate on Aaj Tak on May 29, 2026, during which she commented on the growing influence of online “star teachers” and the commercialisation of education. She contended that the remarks constituted fair journalistic commentary made during a public discussion on a matter of national importance.

However, soon after the broadcast, several defendants with large social media followings launched a sustained campaign targeting her and the network between May 30 and June 4, she alleged.

As per the suit, videos, posts and broadcasts published across multiple digital platforms described Kashyap and Aaj Tak using terms such as “bikau patrakar,” “chatukar,” “dalli,” and accused them of engaging in “dalaali” and operating a “fake news ki dukaan.”
