Over 20 judges of the Gujarat High Court are scheduled to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Justice Alpesh Yeshvant Kogje as Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on September 10.
The Gujarat High Court website has already published notices indicating the non-availability of 16 judges, while about 4 more are unavailable, according to Bar & Bench sources.
The Gujarat High Court currently has a strength of 33 judges.
A large number of lawyers from Gujarat are also expected to attend the ceremony.
The Central government had cleared Justice Kogje's appointment on September 5 after the Supreme Court Collegium recommended him following its meeting on August 31.
