Bar Council of England and Wales to host Family Law Symposium on 11th October

The event will be hosted at Casuarina Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110003.

The Bar Council of England and Wales, in collaboration with leading members of the Indian Bar, will host a Family Law Symposium 2025 – Bridging Perspectives between England and Wales and India on 11th October, from 10:30am to 3:30pm, at Casuarina Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110003.

The Symposium will bring together senior advocates, barristers, academics, and mediators from both jurisdictions to exchange expertise and strengthen professional cooperation. Key discussion themes will include:

  • Cross-border family disputes: Children, custody, and jurisdictional challenges

  • Financial remedies and enforcement: Asset sharing across jurisdictions

  • Non-court dispute resolution: Family arbitration and mediation practices

The symposium speakers include Chair of the Bar Council of England and Wales Barbara Mills KC, Senior Advocate and former Additional Solicitor General of India Dr. Pinky Anand, and Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court of India Geeta Luthra.

The programme will also feature a networking lunch, providing an opportunity for informal discussions and connections among legal professionals from both jurisdictions.
