Linklaters Managing Associate Pallavi Gopinath Aney has recently resigned from the firm. She was part of the firm’s India practice group and focused on capital markets practice. Another capital market lawyer, Ankit Kashyap, has resigned from Baker & McKenzie.

Gopinath confirmed her resignation and commented,

“I am leaving to pursue personal interests for the time being.”

Linklaters in its statement to Bar & Bench, said,

“We thank Pallavi Gopinath Aney for her contribution to the firm and wish her well.”

This is the second high-level exit in recent times. Gokul Rajan, formerly with Linklaters, is now joining Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in Delhi.

Both Gopinath and Kashyap are batch mates from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, graduating in 2004. Gopinath has previously worked at Pathak and Associates, and S&R Associates in India before moving to Linklaters in Singapore.

Kashyap initially worked with Ernst & Young and S&R Associates before moving to Jones Day in Singapore. In 2013, he moved to Baker & Mckenzie.

Kashyap was not available for comment but considering the Amarchand Mangaldas split, it is quite possible that he may have been approached by one of the Shroff brothers.

Recently, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas hired Jones Day capital markets lawyer Nikhil Naredi as a Partner. Naredi happens to be from the same batch as Gopinath, and Kashyap.
