Central government appoints 3 new ASGs for Supreme Court

All appointments will be for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The Central government on December 22 notified the appointment of three Senior Advocates as Additional Solicitors General (ASGs) to represent it before the Supreme Court.

The three Senior Advocates who have been appointed to the post are: 

- Devinder Pal Singh;

- Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar; and

- Anil Kaushik

A notification informing of these appointments was issued by the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. All appointments will be for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, Senior Advocate Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar has served as a member of the Rajya Sabha from 2018 to 2024 from the Telugu Desam Party.

Senior Advocate Devinder Pal Singh has previously served as Additional Advocate General for the government of Punjab and Haryana.
