Collegium recommends transfer of Justice Sanjay Agrawal from Chhattisgarh to Allahabad High Court

The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the transfer of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice Sanjay Agrawal to the Allahabad High Court.

The decision was taken by the Collegium in its meetings held on August 25 and 26.

Justice Agrawal began practice under the guidance of advocate Ravish Chandra Agrawal in Bilaspur district Court.

He practised before the District Court from 1989 to 1997 before shifting to the High Court of Madhya Pradesh where he continued till 2000. Following the creation of the Chhattisgarh High Court in 2000, he practised there until his elevation.

His practice covered civil, criminal, and constitutional law, with a specialisation in civil cases. He was appointed as Government Advocate before the High Court and continued in that role until 2007.

He was elevated as a judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court on September 29, 2016, and took oath as a permanent judge on January 8, 2018.
