Collegium recommends transfer of Justice Subhendu Samanta from Calcutta to AP High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Justice Subhendu Samanta to the Andhra Pradesh High Court from the Calcutta High Court.

The decision was taken by the Collegium at meetings held on August 25 and August 26, according to a statement uploaded by the top court today.

Justice Samanta was born on November 25, 1971.

He was appointed as an additional judge of the Calcutta High Court on May 18, 2022 and made a permanent judge on April 23, 2025.
