J Sagar Associates (JSA) Partner Aarthi Sivanandh has joined AZB & Partners along with her team as a Senior Partner in the firm's Corporate/M&A practice at Chennai.

AZB's Chennai office will operate under Sivanandh's leadership.

Sivanandh is a 2001 graduate of the Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University. She earned her LL.M. from the Tulane University Law School, New Orleans in 2002.

An experienced corporate lawyer, Sivanandh had co-founded her own law firm, Vichar Partners in 2010, which eventually merged with JSA in 2014.

On Sivanandh's joining as Senior Partner at Chennai, Founder and Managing Partner of AZB & Partners Zia Mody commented,

"We have always wanted to be in Chennai, which is a nuanced, sizeable and growing market for corporate work at many levels and are elated to leverage our expertise for the benefit of our clients."

Sharing their thoughts on Sivanandh's departure from JSA, Joint Managing Partners Amit Kapur and Vivek Chandy, said,

"Aarthi Sivanandh, Equity Partner, based out of JSA’s Chennai office has decided to resign from the firm to pursue other opportunities. Aarthi has grown tremendously with JSA, and we appreciate her contribution to the firm especially in the Chennai market. However, in keeping with JSA’s unique structure and philosophy, the institution marches on regardless of any individual entries or exits which are inevitable in a firm as large as ours. The firm will continue to aggressively pursue growth opportunities including in Chennai with individuals who are aligned to the culture and value of the firm.

The JSA family wishes Aarthi the very best and hopes she finds success in her future endeavours.”
