Claudia Salomon reappointed as President of the ICC Court of Arbitration

The second term will be starting today for the 2024 - 2027 mandate

Claudia Salomon has been reappointed as President of the International Chamber of Commerce's International Court of Arbitration (ICC Court) for a second term starting July 1, 2024

Salomon is a Harvard Law School graduate and the first woman President of the ICC Court, where she has been serving as President since July 2021.

She has also been engaged as an independent arbitrator since January 2021. Before this, Salomon was with Latham & Watkins and DLA Piper for 8 years each, during which she served as the Partner and co-chair of the International Arbitration Practice at both firms.

This news comes alongside announcing the new ICC court composition for the 2024-27 mandate.

The seven new vice presidents, as declared on the website are:

Isaiah Bozimo SAN (Nigeria/United Kingdom), Partner at Broderick Bozimo and Company, Abuja
Julie Bédard (Canada/France), Partner and the Head of Skadden’s International Litigation and Arbitration Group for the Americas
Stavros Brekoulakis (Greece), Michael & Laura Hwang Professor in International Arbitration at the National University of Singapore; Arbitrator at 3 Verulam Buildings (Gray’s Inn) in London
Valeria Galíndez (Brazil/Argentina), Partner at Galíndez Arb in São Paulo
Carmen Martinez Lopez (Spain/United Kingdom), Partner at Three Crowns in Madrid
May Tai (Malaysia), independent arbitrator and Consultant with Herbert Smith Freehills in Hong Kong
Marieke van Hooijdonk (Netherlands), Partner at A&O Shearman
