Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Partner Sameer Chugh resigns to go back in-house

Chugh had joined Cyril Amarchand in June 2021 from Bharti Airtel.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Partner Sameer Chugh has resigned from the firm to resume his practice as in-house counsel.

Confirming the development, Managing Partner Cyril Shroff said,

“Sameer returns to the in-house world with our best wishes. He is a very seasoned professional and will excel wherever he goes. He is a proud CAM alumni.“

Chugh had joined Cyril Amarchand in June 2021 from Bharti Airtel.

In August 2019, Chugh had taken over as Group General Counsel of the Bharti Group, with Mukesh Bhavnani moving up as Advisor to the group of companies.

Chugh had joined Airtel in 2014, prior to which he was working at Cummins India as Vice President – Legal. He has also previously worked at Essar and BT PLC. He is a 1997 graduate of Symbiosis Law School.
