The Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre (NPAC) recently welcomed Justice FM Ibrahim Kalifulla, Leigh-Ann Mulcahy, and Jimmy Yim to its Governing Council with an aim to bolster its efforts to achieve its objectives.
Justice FM Ibrahim Kalifulla is a former judge of the Supreme Court of India. Notably, after his retirement, he was appointed to head the Ayodhya Mediation Panel. He has also served as the sole arbitrator in a high-profile dispute between firms in the United States of America and Turkey and provided suggestions in the BCCI administration case.
Leigh-Ann Mulcahy KC is an internationally acclaimed Barrister, Arbitrator and Mediator at Fountain Court Chambers, London Area, United Kingdom. She has been the President of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission's Panel of Senior Decision-Makers. She served as a Deputy High Court Judge from 2016 to 2022. She is enrolled at the Bar of England and Wales and has also been admitted to the Republic of Ireland Bar. Her contributions have been recognized through numerous accolades, including being awarded Group Litigation and Consumer Silk of the Year 2022.
Jimmy Yim is a renowned Barrister, Senior Counsel and Chairman of Drew & Napier LLC. His achievements have been recognized in prestigious international publications including Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. As a senior attorney, he has appeared before the Supreme Court, SICC and the International Court of Arbitration.
The NPAC is a non-profit organization established in 2005. It aims to promote institutional arbitration and facilitate mediation, conciliation, and arbitration services while ensuring fair, quick and a cost-effective resolution to commercial disputes.
The Centre has been recognized by the Madras High Court and endorsed by the Indian Ministry of Law and Justice.
The NPAC's Board of Directors comprises Senior Advocates and experts from various fields.
The NPAC operates under the guidance of its Governing Council. Commenting on the inclusion of its three new members, the NPAC said,
