Roop Loomba appointed Legal Head – India and South Asia at AkzoNobel Powder Coatings India

In her new role, Loomba will be responsible for establishing and leading the Legal function for AkzoNobel Powder Coatings India.

Roop Loomba has been appointed the Legal Head – India and South Asia at AkzoNobel Powder Coatings India Private Limited, a newly incorporated subsidiary of AkzoNobel.

Loomba is an alumna of Panjab University.

With over 25 years of experience as an in-house counsel, she has held leadership roles across various esteemed organisation such as Corporations of the Punjab Government, Castrol, HUL, Philips, Whirlpool and Rolls Royce. Her most recent role was serving as the Legal Head – India and South Asia at AkzoNobel.

In her new role, Loomba will be responsible for establishing and leading the Legal function for AkzoNobel Powder Coatings India, playing a foundational role in shaping its governance framework and legal architecture from inception. She will lead the Legal, Ethics, and Compliance functions, along with Global Business Services (GBS), ensuring strong alignment with AkzoNobel’s global standards while delivering practical, locally relevant solutions tailored to the regulatory and business landscape.

Speaking on her new role, Loomba shared,

"I’m excited to once again get an opportunity in my career to build the Legal function for this new AkzoNobel entity from the ground up, shaping a compliant, agile, and business-enabling Legal, Ethics, and Compliance framework aligned with global standards and local needs."
