Senior Advocate Sonia Mathur's Smash Squad clinches Gold at 1st LawStrings Pickleball Premier League

The tournament was hosted on May 24 and 25, 2025 at REPPP, Farm No.1, Mehrauli, South Delhi.

The inaugural season of the LawStrings Pickleball Premier League (LPPL), India’s first-ever pickleball tournament exclusively for legal professionals, concluded on a high-octane note.

The event, hosted by LawStrings Management, a business development consulting firm for the global legal industry, saw intense competition, unmatched sportsmanship and an outpouring of camaraderie among lawyers from across the country.

The Gold Cup was claimed by Smash Squad, a franchise owned by Senior Advocate Sonia Mathur, with an undefeated record throughout the tournament.

The winning team comprised:

- Nachiketa Vajpayee (Team Captain)

- Sparsh Duggal

- Rishabh Rela

- Pallavi Kumar

- Sanjivani Pattjoshi

- Angad Baxi

The Silver Cup went to Legal Pickle, led by Advocate Shrey Sharawat, while the Bronze Cup was awarded to Net-workers, owned by Senior Advocate Haripriya Padmanabhan.

The fourth rank was secured by Lex Saviours, franchise owned by Praveen Kumar, followed by Amicus Aces led by Senior Advocate Guru Krishnakumar in the fifth place; Supreme Strikers led by Senior Advocate Rupesh Kumar in the sixth place; Pickle Pleaders led by Senior Advocate Dr S Muralidhar in the seventh place and Sood’s Smashers led by Senior Advocate Vivek Sood in the eighth place.

Justice Vidya Bhushan Gupta, retired judge of the Delhi High Court, along with Senior Advocate Dr. S. Muralidhar, graced the opening ceremony with their presence on May 24, 2025.

Senior Advocate Sacchin Puri, Vice-President of Delhi High Court Bar Association, presented the Gold Cup to the winning team.

Co-founder of Hudle, Sonam Taneja graced the final occasion and awarded the top three ranking teams with Hudle vouchers.

Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, was the official Partner for LPPL: Season 1. IPA is the official National Sports Federation for pickleball in the country.
