Advani & Co. Partner Tariq Khan leaves to join as Registrar of International Arbitration and Mediation Centre

Khan will take up the responsibility of overseeing the functioning of the Centre and promote its activities both nationally and internationally.

Tariq Khan has left Advani & Co. to join as Registrar of the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Hyderabad.

Khan has been practicing as an advocate primarily in the Delhi High Court for more than seven years. He has significant experience in domestic and international arbitrations, commercial disputes, writs, MSME disputes, Insolvency & Bankruptcy cases and arbitration related litigation.

Speaking to Bar & Bench on his new role, he said,

“This journey has been very fulfilling and I will be forever indebted to Mr. Hiroo Advani for believing in me and encouraging me. I am excited for the new role as I have been very passionate about promoting arbitration and mediation in India.”

On Khan's exit from the firm, Senior Partner Hiroo Advani said,

“Tariq has been associated with us for a long time and has been an integral part of the firm. I am confident that he will take this Centre to great heights. I wish him all the best for his future endeavours.”

Khan will take up the responsibility of overseeing the functioning of the Centre and promote its activities both nationally and internationally.

The International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC) has been set up in a 16,000 square feet area in the financial district of Hyderabad at levels 21 & 22 of VK Towers, Gachibowli.

The Board of Trustees of IAMC include sitting Supreme Court judges Justices L Nageswara Rao and Hima Kohli, former Supreme Court judge Justice RV Raveendran, Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court Satish Chandra Sharma and Telangana Law Minister A Indrakaran Reddy.

The Governing Council includes international arbitrator and mediator Sir Bernard Eder, Queen's Counsel Toby Landau, co-chair of the International Arbitration and Litigation Group at Kim & Chang Dr Eun-Young Park, advocate and mediator Chitra Narayan, Senior Advocate and Barrister Nakul Dewan, founder of Arista Chambers Promod Nair and former Trilegal Partners Sitesh Mukherjee.
