The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of three judges to the Delhi High Court from other High Courts.

The decision was taken by the Collegium in its meetings held on August 25 and 26.

The judges recommended for transfer to the Delhi High Court are Justices Dinesh Mehta and Avneesh Jhingan from the Rajasthan High Court and Justice Chandrasekharan Sudha from the Kerala High Court.

This comes close on the heels of an earlier round of transfers to Delhi from other High Courts.

Six judges, Justices V Kameswar Rao, Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Vivek Chaudhary, Om Prakash Shukla, Anil Kshetarpal and Arun Kumar Monga had recently taken oath as the judges of the Delhi High Court after their transfer from other High Courts.

This had led to concerns from the Bar that the move was diminishing opportunities for local advocates to be elevated to the Bench.

Interestingly, of the six who took oath at Delhi High Court last month, Justice Monga has now been recommended by the Collegium for transfer again, this time to Kerala High Court.

His parent High Court is Punjab and Haryana.
