Justice Chelameswar to speak at Cornell Law School on Fundamental Rights under Indian Constitution

Supreme Court judge, Justice Jasti Chelameswar will speak at Cornell Law School, Ithaca, New York on October 16.

He will speak on the topic “Fundamental Rights under Indian Constitution”.

The event is co-ordinated by Sital Kalantry, who is a Professor at Cornell Law School and Somanadri Goud, alumnus of Cornell.

Last year, the US city of Naperville, in the State of Illinois had proclaimed October 14, 2016 as ‘Honourable Justice Jasti Chelameswar day’ in acknowledgment of the judgments delivered by Justice Chelameswar including striking down of Section 66A of the IT Act, dissenting verdict in the NJAC case

Chelameswar J. has recently been in news for his opposition to the manner of functioning of Collegium system.
