Justice Pradeep Nandrajog today took oath as the new Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

Justice Nandrajog was administered the oath by Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao at the Raj Bhavan.

The oath-taking ceremony witnessed the presence of other judges of the High Court, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, other state functionaries and senior members of the Bar.

Justice Nandrajog succeeds Chief Justice Naresh Patil, who retired on April 6.

On March 28, the Collegium of the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices SA Bobde, NV Ramana, Arun Mishra, and Rohinton Nariman recommended that Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, Pradeep Nandrajog be transferred to the Bombay High Court.

Justice Nandrajog had been serving as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court since March 2017, following a transfer from the Delhi High Court.

He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Delhi University in 1981 and enrolled as an advocate the same year. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court on December 20, 2002, and became a Permanent Judge on April 16, 2004.
