HPNLU appoints former CJI Sanjiv Khanna as Distinguished Professor

Justice Sanjiv Khanna served as the 51st Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India and retired on May 13, 2025.

The Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla (HPNLU) has announced the appointment of former Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna as a Distinguished Professor.

Justice Sanjiv Khanna served as the 51st Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India and retired on May 13, 2025.

Speaking with Bar & Bench, Registrar, HPNLU, Prof (Dr) SS Jaswal said that there is no fixed tenure for the position of Distinguished Professor and the scope of engagement will be as per Justice Sanjiv Khanna.

Recently, former Chief Justice of India Dr DY Chandrachud was appointed by the National Law University, Delhi as a Distinguished Professor.
