Bollywood production company Trimurti Films has filed a suit against filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s production house, B62 Studios, alleging unauthorised use of the song 'Rang De Lal' in one of the films.

The dispute centres on the rights to the song, originally co-composed by Anand–Milind, with lyrics by Sameer Anjaan. It featured in the 1989 film Tridev. The track features vocals by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee.

Trimurti Films claims that the song, or a version substantially similar to it, has been used in the defendant’s film without obtaining the requisite licences or permissions.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Trimurti has asserted ownership and/or control over the relevant rights in the musical work and sound recording. It has alleged that the use amounts to copyright infringement, including unauthorised reproduction and communication of the work to the public.

The suit seeks injunctive relief restraining further use of the song, along with damages and other consequential reliefs. Trimurti has also raised concerns over potential commercial exploitation of the track through theatrical release, streaming platforms and promotional material.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is a 2026 Hindi-language spy action thriller directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. It is the sequel to Dhurandhar (2025).
