Photo Story: CJI Surya Kant leads Women's Day Walkathon in Chandigarh

The walkathon, held on International Women’s Day, was part of the ongoing India International Disputes Week 2026 in Chandigarh.

A Women's Day walkathon was held in Chandigarh on Sunday morning as part of the ongoing India International Disputes Week (IIDW) 2026.

The walkathon was flagged off by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant from Sukhna Lake to the Open Hand Monument in the Capitol Complex, which also houses the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Various woman lawyers, students and men participated in the walk of about 2.5 to 3 kilometers.

CJI Kant lead the walk and was joined by various High Court judges including Chief Justice Sheel Nagu.

"It is a historic day to make people aware of women's rights. I felt good about my participation in the event," CJI Kant said, while talking to media.
