A plea has been filed before the Delhi High Court seeking an independent probe into the alleged systemic lapses and discrepancies in the conduct of JEE (Main) 2025 exams. 

The plea, filed by a candidate named Shashank Shekhar Pandey through advocate Priyanshu Upadhyay, is listed for hearing before Justice Vikas Mahajan on Thursday. 

Pandey has argued that he had attempted a total of 46 questions in the recently held JEE (Main) exams but the response sheet uploaded by the National Testing Agency (NTA). reflected only 29 attempted questions. 

"As a direct consequence of this discrepancy, 17 questions— corresponding to over 65 marks—have not been accounted for in the evaluation of the petitioner’s performance. Consequently, the Petitioner has been unfairly awarded an NTA Score of 88.5434015, substantially lower than what he would have secured had his complete responses been duly considered, thereby causing irreparable harm to his academic prospects,” the plea said. 

It is alleged that there are mistakes in the answer key provided by the NTA and same should also be rectified. 

As per the plea, it is not the only incident when mistakes have been pointed out in the JEE exams, but rather, it is a common phenomenon and many students suffer due to such errors. 

Therefore, the plea has sought directions to the NTA to extend the deadline for the registration of JEE (Advance) exams and put in place an effective grievance redressal mechanism to deal with such problems. 

Pandey has also sought directions to recompute his marks based on the correct responses submitted by him during the exams.
