Raghvendra Singh Chauhan to take over as Acting Chief Justice of Telangana HC [Read Notification]

Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan will take over as the Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, following the transfer of Chief Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan to the Calcutta High Court.

A notification to this effect was issued by the Central Government on Wednesday. Last week, the Centre had cleared the transfer of Chief Justice Radhakrishnan to the Calcutta High Court following Supreme Court Collegium resolutions endorsing the same issued last month as well as in January.

As per the notification, Chief Justice Radhakrishnan is expected to take charge of the Calcutta High Court next week, on or before April 6. (Raghvendra Singh Chauhan)

In view of the same, the government has now notified that Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, the next senior-most judge of the Telangana High Court, will take over the duties of the Chief Justice at the High Court, “with effect from the date Shri Justice Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan relinquishes charge of the office of the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court consequent upon his transfer as Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.
