Raj Shamani moves Delhi High Court to protect his personality rights

Podcaster and entrepreneur Raj Shamani has approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection of his personality rights.

The case is scheduled to be heard by Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora on November 17.

In his suit, filed through advocate Nakul Gandhi of NG Law Chambers, Shamani has sought the removal of AI-generated content and an injunction order against social media channels and websites using his name, persona and other attributes without his consent.

The suit also seeks relief against John Doe (unnamed defendants) and protection of his registered trademarks and copyrighted content.

Notably, the Delhi High Court had earlier passed directions protecting the personality rights of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff, journalists like Rajat Sharma and spiritual gurus Sri Sri Ravishankar and Jaggi Vasudev.
