SC Collegium recommends Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande be made permanent judge of Bombay High Court

Justice Deshpande was appointed as an additional judge of the High Court in 2023. She had been given an extension of one year in August 2025.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended that Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande be made a permanent judge of the Bombay High Court.

The decision was taken at a meeting held today.

"The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 14th April, 2026 has approved the proposal for appointment of Smt. Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande, Additional Judge as Permanent Judge of the High Court of Bombay," a statement released by the apex court said.

Justice Deshpande was appointed as an additional judge of the High Court in 2023. She had been given an extension of one year in August 2025.
