Breaking: Dushyant Dave, Vikas Singh, RS Suri, V Shekhar to contest for SCBA President

Senior Advocates Dushyant Dave, Vikas Singh and RS Suri and V Shekhar will contest for the post of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President.

Dave, who has served two terms as SCBA President, will be in the race this time. Dave has never lost an election for President, winning twice in 2014-15 and 2015-16.

Senior Advocate Vikas Singh, who had contested last year, but had narrowly lost to RS Suri by twenty votes, will also run for the President. Suri had secured 423 votes as against Singh’s tally of 403.

Suri, the incumbent President, will be running for the second consecutive time.

Senior Advocate V Shekhar, who has earlier served as Vice President of the SCBA twice, is also contesting for the President post this time. Shekhar has already filed his nomination and is the senior most of the four.

Advocates Anil Hooda, Amit Anand Tiwari and Vikrant Yadav will be in the running for the post of Secretary. Gaurav Bhatia currently holds the post of Secretary.

Filing of nominations for various posts will begin today and end tomorrow. The final list of candidates will be published on December 9. The elections will be held on December 13.
