Senior Advocate P Sreekumar appointed Additional Solicitor General for Kerala High Court

Sreekumar is the first ASG to be appointed for Kerala High Court following the creation of the post for the State.

The Central government has appointed Senior Advocate P Sreekumar as Additional Solicitor General (ASG) for India at the Kerala High Court for a term of three years with effect from March 23, 2026.

The appointment was notified by the Ministry of Law and Justice through a gazette notification issued on March 27.

This is the first such appointment following the creation of Additional Solicitor General post for Kerala High Court.

Until now, Deputy Solicitors General have been handling Central government matters before High Courts.

Sreekumar began his legal practice in 1994 and was designated Senior Advocate by the Kerala High Court in 2024. He has a practice spanning arbitration, education law, family law, and civil and criminal litigation.

Sreekumar has over 32 years of experience before the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts. His practice includes arbitration, education law, family law, and civil and criminal litigation.

He has also advised and represented public bodies and institutions.
