Supreme Court Collegium recommends 9 advocates for appointment as Patna High Court judges

Patna High Court currently has 38 judges. Its approved judge strength is 53.

The Supreme Court Collegium on Thursday recommended names of nine Advocates for appointment as judges of the Patna High Court.

Following a meeting held on Thursday, the Collegium approved the proposals for appointment of the following Advocates as judges:

(i) Md. Nadim Seraj;

(ii) Ranjan Kumar Jha;

(iii) Kumar Manish;

(iv) Sanjeev Kumar;

(v) Girijish Kumar;

(vi) Alok Kumar;

(vii) Raj Kumar;

(viii) Rana Vikram Singh; and

(ix) Vikash Kumar.

Patna High Court is currently functioning with a strength of 38 judges. Three of the judges including Chief Justice SK Sahoo will retire this year. The High Court has a sanctioned judge strength of 53.
