Supreme Court Collegium recommends Justice PB Bajanthri as Patna High Court Chief Justice

Justice Bajanthri is presently serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, following the elevation of Justice Vipul Pancholi to the Supreme Court of India.

The Supreme Court Collegium on Thursday recommended the appointment of Justice PB Bajanthri as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.

Justice Bajanthri is presently serving as Acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, following the elevation of Justice Vipul Pancholi to the Supreme Court of India.

Justice Bajanthri enrolled as an advocate in 1990 and practiced before the High Court of Karnataka and various tribunals.

He also served as standing counsel for the Karnataka Public Service Commission during 1993–94.

He was elevated as an additional judge of the Karnataka High Court on January 1, 2015 and was transferred to the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, where he took oath as a judge on March 16, 2015.

He was later repatriated back to the Karnataka High Court on November 17, 2018. He was then transferred to the Patna High Court on October 20, 2021.
