Supreme Court Collegium recommends Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta as Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court

Justice MK Gupta is currently the second senior-most judge of the Allahabad High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Allahabad High Court Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta as Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court.

His appointment will follow the retirement of incumbent Chief Justice G Narendar on January 9, 2026.

Justice Gupta is currently the second senior-most judge of the Allahabad High Court.

He completed his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Lucknow University in 1987, laying the foundation for a distinguished legal career.

Following his graduation, he enrolled as an advocate on December 6, 1987 and began practicing primarily in the Civil, Rent Control and Constitutional law domains.

He was elevated as an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court on April 12, 2013 and took oath as a permanent judge on April 10, 2015.
