Supreme Court to hold special Lok Adalat in August to resolve pending matters amicably

Parties can appear both physically or virtually on the online platform to settle their disputes.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday announced a nationwide dispute resolution initiative titled Samadhan Samaroh 2026, culminating in a Special Lok Adalat for matters pending before it on August 21, 22 and 23.

According to a public notice circulated by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Shimla, the initiative titled Supreme Court Action for Mediated Adjudication and Disputes Harmonization Across Nation (SAMADHAN), aims to enabling faster and consensual resolution of disputes through mediation-based mechanisms.

The programme commenced on April 21 and will run over several months, encouraging litigants to opt for negotiated settlements.

All advocates, litigants and stakeholders have been invited to participate in the process. Parties may appear either physically or virtually on an online platform to arrive at settlements.
