Thomson Reuters GC Bijoya Roy joins Flipkart as VP and Group General Counsel

Bijoya Roy has relocated to Bangalore to join Walmart-acquired Flipkart as Vice-President and Group General Counsel.

She has joined Walmart from Thomson Reuters, where she was working as General Counsel – Global Growth Organization. She spent almost 11 years at Thomson Reuters before leaving for Flipkart.

Bijoya has over 16 years of experience working as an in-house counsel. She is skilled in devising legal strategy to fuel sustainable business growth, negotiations, M&A, leading global compliance initiatives, and partnering with HR and Finance to create a robust corporate framework.

She has previously worked with Eastman Kodak Company, Asian Paints, and Tata Housing Development Company.

She is a 2002 graduate of Symbiosis Law School, Pune, and also holds a postgraduate diploma in EC Competition Law from King’s College London.
