UAE-based boutique international law firm Nimble Legal has entered the Indian legal market with the launch of its first office in Mumbai, appointing Priyanka Patel as Managing Partner of its India practice.

Alongside Patel’s appointment, the firm has appointed Abhimanyu Singh as Partner in its international maritime law practice and Vivek Nittala as Of Counsel to lead its private wealth practice.

Patel has over 15 years of experience in maritime and customs law before Indian courts and holds an LL.M. in International Maritime Law from the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law at Swansea University.

Singh, a graduate of Tulane University School of Law, brings close to two decades of experience in maritime law and commercial arbitration in India.

Nittala is a law graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and is a CFA Charterholder and a member of STEP.

According to a press release issued by the firm, the Mumbai office will advise on maritime law, international trade, customs and related commercial disputes. The India launch coincides with the firm completing ten years since its establishment.

Announcing the expansion, Nimble Legal founder Hari Krishna said:

From the outset, we prioritised stability over rapid expansion. That approach earned the trust of clients who rely on us for long-term support. As we enter our second decade, we are ready to grow - in capability, in maturity, and in the sophistication of the services we offer.

Commenting on the firm’s entry into India, Patel said:

Nimble Legal’s entry into India comes at a moment when the country’s maritime and trade landscape is evolving rapidly. I am delighted to help build a practice that combines international standards with deep local insight, and to contribute to a firm that places such a premium on client trust and long-term relationships.”

Explaining his decision to join Nimble Legal, Singh said:

“What drew me to Nimble Legal is its clarity of purpose. Hari and I have known each other for over twenty years, and we have always shared a similar approach to maritime practice — practical, commercially focused, and grounded in integrity. Joining Nimble Legal feels like a natural extension of that longstanding professional alignment, and I look forward to helping expand the firm’s capabilities in India and beyond.”

On his appointment, Nittala said:

Clients today expect advisors who can bridge legal, financial, and structural considerations seamlessly. Nimble Legal’s approach aligns perfectly with that expectation. I am excited to help build a private wealth practice that is sophisticated, responsive, and truly global in its outlook.”
