Since late last year, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Ankit Pal, a third-year student at the WB National University of Juridical Sciences

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you choose to study law? Did you have any other interests before deciding to pursue law school?

Law as a profession has always interested me because of its inherent nature where argumentation follows a structure and procedure. The law of the land affects each and every individual in ways more than one at various levels and it was this characteristic of law that attracted me.

I wanted to take up political science and international relations before I found out that legal studies would offer all of the above in its course in some way or the other.

Why did you choose to become a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador?

Bar & Bench has helped and guided students of law for a good long while now. It came across as something fascinating to me even before I joined law school. It is very informative and helps you in being updated with the developments in the legal fraternity.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to take up litigation after law school.
