CMR University School of Legal Studies' IXth National Moot Court Competition witnessed KLE School of Law emerge as winners

The winning team comprising Bharath, B Chandralekha KM, and Pratheek M, were awarded a cash prize of ₹40,000 along with certificates and a trophy.

University Law College and the Department of Studies in Law, Bangalore University were the runners-up. The team comprised Navodita, KM Meghana Manoj, and Ashal Menezes, were awarded a cash prize of ₹30,000 along with certificates and a trophy.

The other award recipients at the competition were as follows -

Best Researcher - Ashal Menezes from University Law College won a cash prize of ₹10,000 along with certificates and a trophy.

Best Memorial - Pradeep Reddy, Prachi Mehta, and Gauri Aggarwal from Symbiosis Law School, Pune were awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000 along with certificates and a trophy.

Best Speaker - Nikitha SM from JSS Law College was awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000 along with certificates and a trophy.

The event was inaugurated by Justice PS Dinesh Kumar, Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.

The moot court focused on the Smartphones (Regulation and Marketing) Act, 2024, challenging its constitutionality and balancing consumer protection with producer rights.

The two-day competition ended with final rounds adjudicated by esteemed Karnataka High Court judges including Justice BA Patil, Chairman, Karnataka Land Grabbing Prohibition Special Courts; Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Justice CM Joshi, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Justice Ashok G NI Jagannavar, Member, Law Commission of Karnataka; Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Justice Krishna Bhat, Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Justice PN Desai, Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka.
