Over the last two years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Mayank Gupta, a second-year law student at the Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, Delhi University.

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you choose to study law?

As a young boy, I always wanted to be a lawyer! For me, law is a guide to life. As a law student you not only study law but you read about other associated subjects. And this broaden your horizons. As a lawyer, one has to analyze both sides of an argument which often leads to development of divergent thoughts.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

Bar & Bench is the finest online platform for Indian legal news. The legal content and live court updates by Bar & Bench have been advantageous not only for law students but also for the legal professionals.

Through this opportunity, I seek to actively contribute to the evolution of legal journalism and to the circulation of relevant and accurate legal news.

What are your plans after completing law?

The fundamental purpose of the legal profession is to help others and resolve their legal issues. I am looking forward to argue for the people in the court of law and bring justice to them. I am passionately curious and want to keep learning.
