Know your Campus Ambassador: Pooja Arora, ILS Law College

Over the last two years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Pooja Arora, a third-year student of law at ILS College in Pune.

Why did you choose to study law?

My choice to study law developed much like an accidental romance. Evaluating my options and weighing them on the scale of my interests and future, I chose law as my default option only realising its beauty and sophistication later on.

I wanted to make a difference in the society and help people and a noble profession as law fit my aspirations perfectly. I realised I could use my skills of research, speaking and writing in the best way by becoming a lawyer.

Hopefully, this story will end with a happily ever after.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

On first entering the law school, I had no idea where to begin. Many of my seniors advised me to refer to Bar and Bench and it has since helped me gain an insight of the intricacies and the complexities of different areas of law.

I believe it is a platform which helps both students and professionals to keep themselves updated with the developments in the legal field. Being a part of such a prestigious platform was a golden chance I could not miss.

What are your plans after completing law?

I am interested in intellectual property rights. But being only in my third year, I want to explore the other areas of law. I also wish to gain some work experience before pursuing an LL.M.
