Webinar Alert: "Approaching International Arbitration Moots: A Detailed Analysis" (Sept. 5)

The Moot Court Association of School of Law, UPES is proud to present a webinar on ‘Approaching International Arbitration Moots: a detailed analysis’ on 5th September, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

The Webinar will witness the presence of esteemed legal luminaries who would share their profound expertise in tackling arbitration law and moots based on it. Our luminaries for the webinar are:

1. Prof. Dr. Stefan Kroll

Prof. Dr. Kroll is a world renowned internationally operating arbitrator who is a Director of the William C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition at Vienna. He is also a Professor for International Dispute Resolution at the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany and is a Director of its Centre for International Dispute Resolution and has also been retained by the UNCITRAL as one of the three experts to prepare the Digest on the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration.

2. Ms. Kiran N. Gore

Ms. Gore is a counsel at Law Offices of Charles H. Camp, PC and has a decade long experience in International Dispute Resolution. She is an Associate Editor of the world renowned Kluwer Arbitration Blog and is a Professorial Lecturer in Law at the George Washington University School of Law (GW Law). Ms. Gore is also a coach to GW Law’s Vis moot teams. Notably, Ms. Gore has been associated with the Vis Moot as competitor, coach to various teams and as an arbitrator during Vis rounds.

3. Mr. Ajar Rab

Mr. Rab is a Partner at Rab & Rab Associates LLP, a prominent law firm in Dehradun, India. He is a Visiting Professor at NLSIU, Bangalore and NUJS, Kolkata and is also a visiting faculty at NALSAR, Hyderabad. Mr. Rab is currently pursuing his Doctorate in International Commercial Arbitration under Prof. Dr. Kröll. He has coached several successful teams taking part in moots such as Vis Vienna, Vis East, FDI, Frankfurt Investment Arbitration and also drafts moot propositions for top law schools in the country such as the NLS Trilegal International Arbitration Moot.

4. Mr. Jonathan Lim

Mr. Lim is a triple qualified English solicitor, Singapore Advocate and New York lawyer with a focus on complex international disputes. He is a counsel at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr and has also received SIAC and DIS appointments as sole and party-appointed arbitrator in proceedings seated in Europe and Asia. Mr. Lim has been named as a leading under-45 arbitrator and practitioner in Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration Future Leaders 2018-2020.

5. Mr. Benjamin Gottlieb

Mr. Gottlieb is a Senior Associate at Schellenberg Wittmer's international arbitration group with demonstrated experience as arbitrator and counsel in ICC arbitration proceedings coupled with an expansive understanding of principles and practices of international commercial arbitration. He is a profound expert on the United Nations Convention for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and co-editor of a commentary on the CISG. Mr. Gottlieb is also a Lecturer on International Commercial Arbitration at the University of Zurich.
