Webinar Alert: "Guilty Until Proven Innocent: A View from the Dock“ by NALSAR University (August 26)

The Centre for Criminal Justice Reform and Research, NALSAR is holding a talk by Abdul Wahid Shaik titled “Guilty Until Proven Innocent: A View from the Dock“.

Abdul Wahid Shaikh, a school teacher, was one of the 13 accused in the suburban train bombings of 11th July 2006 – popularly called the 7/11 bombings.

He was acquitted of all charges nine years later in 2016. Wahid has authored Begunah Qaidi (‘The Innocent Prisoners’) which provides us a worm’s eye view of the criminal justice system.

His new, unpublished book, "A Fair Trial?" takes us through the every day business of a Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) courtroom.
