The entry of women into Kerala's Sabarimala Temple has been one of the most contentious issues before the Supreme Court in recent times.

And with the Apex Court recently agreeing to sit in review of its own judgment of September 2018 and expanding the scope of the matter, the issue seems to be far from settled.

From impressing the Constitution Bench that initially heard the matter with arguments on behalf of Lord Ayyappa to arguing the review petition, Advocate J Sai Deepak has been one of the key counsel in the matter.

In this interview with Bar & Bench, the engineer-turned-lawyer speaks about his shift into the legal profession, his big break facilitated by the Sabarimala matter appearance, fighting for Hindu-centric legal causes, and his take on the perception that the Judiciary has been increasingly siding with the Executive of late.
