

Nyaaya (Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy) is looking to hire Karnataka Samvidhaan Fellows (Lawyers) in multiple districts across Karnataka.

Job Description
The Karnataka Samvidhaan Fellowship 2026 is a one-year paid fellowship program by Nyaaya aimed at increasing legal awareness and strengthening access to justice at the grassroots level in Karnataka.
Selected fellows will work closely with local communities in different districts of Karnataka, particularly focusing on judicial issues impacting women, children, and other underserved groups.
Fellows will:
Create and disseminate contextual legal awareness material in Kannada in collaboration with partners such as KSLSA, DD Chandana, and Akashvani.
Conduct legal awareness sessions and capacity-building workshops to empower communities.
Respond to legal queries from grassroots networks and through Nyaaya’s WhatsApp helpline.
Provide legal advice, take up pro bono cases, and support advocacy efforts of partner organisations.
Support grievance redressal processes and strengthen engagement with government institutions and justice delivery mechanisms.
The fellowship provides hands-on opportunities to support real justice outcomes and enables lawyers to directly impact the lives of people who face systemic barriers in accessing the law.
This is a full-time role requiring on-ground engagement.
Fellows must be based in Karnataka for the duration of the fellowship.
Litigation expenses for pro bono cases taken up through the fellowship will be reimbursed by Nyaaya.

Requirements:
Fluency in spoken and written Kannada is mandatory.
Demonstrated experience working at the grassroots level.
Strong understanding of legal processes and grievance-redressal mechanisms.
Expertise or experience in gender rights, child rights, or work with underserved communities is preferred.
Commitment to social justice and community empowerment is essential.
Must be willing to travel within assigned districts.
Remuneration: ₹30,000 per month + reimbursement of fellowship-related expenses
