The Bar Council of India (BCI) along with Rainmaker held a press conference at the Press Club of India to declare the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) results today..The Bar Council of India (BCI) along with Rainmaker held a press conference at the Press Club of India to declare the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) results today..BCI Chairman, Gopal Subramanium (pictured) said, “There was a high attendance of 96 percent across the 41 venues, barring 3 in Chennai which had to be postponed because of protests. The pass percentage across the board has been a tremendous 71.3 percent. Female candidates pass percentage of 72.1 is slight higher than that of male candidates at 71 percent”..Subramanium added on to say, “Bihar has secured the highest pass percentage of 98.11 percent and we take it as a matter of some importance. The second state which comes close to Bihar happens to be the State of Sikkim, with 92 percent”..Candidates will be able to access their results through the BCI website with their roll numbers. Results will also be available at each State Bar Council across the country..Speaking with Bar & Bench, Subramanium said, “We have decided not to put a cap on the number of attempts made by a candidate for the AIBE. We propose to hold the exam 2 times in a year and if possible 3 times in a year”..On the exam being lengthy, Subramanium said, “Frankly if you ask me the question paper was not very long, but yes since this was an exam where students are not exactly accustomed to an open book exam, it took them a little time. But what I found that was extremely rewarding by way of feedback was that the students said they did not attempt a question until they were absolutely sure. That particular attribute says a lot”..Law subject in humanities proposed with the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.): Subramanium said, “We have also forwarded the syllabus for a law subject to the CBSE, to introduce an optional law subject in the 10 plus 2 humanities stream. We do hope that the CBSE will shortly introduce the law subject into humanities”..AIBE in Chennai is going to take place on March 27, 2011 as per schedule. According to the latest press release by BCI Chairman Gopal Subramanium states that, “Revised admit cards along with venue details are being dispatched to all the candidates who were set to appear for the AIBE in Chennai on March 6, 2011. Candidates can also download their revised admit cards from the BCI website (www.barcouncilofindia.org ) from Monday March, 21, 2011 onwards; copies of the admit cards will also be available at the examination venue on March 27.
