The Allahabad High Court has notified the suspension of judicial and administrative functioning at its Principal Bench, stating that the High Court premises will be closed for sanitization on July 14 and 15 in the wake of a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Filing of fresh cases will not be permitted during the two-day period, the Court has further stated.

The sanitization of the High Court premises is being undertaken to tackle the increase in Coronavirus cases in Pragyaraj (Allahabad), the order informs.

The High Court's notification is one of several such notifications in the last week suspending administrative and/or judicial work in the High Court. The Delhi High Court was the latest to issue a notification for the suspension of work.

On Sunday, the Patna High Court ordered the near-complete closure of the Court premises with effect till July 15. The Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir High Courts have also issued notices of suspension of proceedings in the last week.
