Former Khaitan & Co Partner Aravind Venugopal joins ACKO as General Counsel

Former Partner at Khaitan & Co Aravind Venugopal has joined insurance company ACKO as its first General Counsel. Venugopal will be working out of the Bangalore office.

At ACKO, Venugopal’s role will be to provide strategic counsel to the management team on expansion plans and new business initiatives. He will also help build a world-class legal team that will enable ACKO to navigate the dynamic and evolving regulatory environment.

Venugopal earned his BA. LL.B. from Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur.

With over 12 years of experience, Venugopal is a seasoned corporate attorney specializing in M&A and financial services. He started his career at Desai & Diwanji, where he worked for close to 4 years. He then joined Khaitan & Co, where he worked for close to 9 years in the Mumbai and Bangalore offices advising on large M&A transactions.

Venugopal has also advised various insurers and distributers on bespoke distribution arrangement and associated regulatory issues

Speaking about Venugopal’s appointment, ACKO co-founder Ruchi Deepak said in a press release,
