Former Fabindia Head Legal Arpita Mukherjee quits to join Anand and Anand..Mukherjee is a graduate of the Campus Law Centre, Delhi University..With a career spanning over 30 years, Mukherjee brings a diverse set of experiences, skills and learnings derived from practice and application of laws including information technology, data privacy, intellectual property, litigation, labour law, banking and securities law, legal metrology, food safety, drugs and cosmetics to name a few. Mukherjee's responsibilities over the past three decades include general corporate legal advisory, stakeholder management, corporate and secretarial compliance, arbitration, mediation and negotiations, real estate acquisition and anti-trust monitoring. She has played active role in multiple organisations for drafting and adoption of various policies and corporate codes in line with needs of changing times. .Mukherjee started her corporate counsel career with the then ICICI Limited and spent close to 14 years between this BFSI pioneer and IL&FS. She grew to be part of leadership teams in companies like Genpact, Nokia Siemens Networks and Tata Teleservices eventually to head legal department of giants such as Metro Cash & Carry India, Levi's Strauss & Co., Aricent Technologies. During her last stint as Head Legal of FabIndia Limited she was heading the legal and compliance departments..At Anand and Anand, Mukherjee will work directly with Safir R. Anand, Senior Partner and Head of Trademarks, Contracts and Commercial IP. Mukherjee's joining is a part of the firm’s efforts to scale up its corporate practice and foray into all services.
