Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Dr Amar Patnaik has joined Luthra and Luthra Law Offices India as an Of Counsel.
A graduate of St. Stephen's College, Delhi, Dr Patnaik completed his Master's from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, and also studied at the John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr Patnaik has served the Accountant General in the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
As a lawyer, he practices before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Electricity Regulatory Authority and other forums. He practices in areas of Company Law, the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code (IBC), Environmental Law and Electricity Law, and offers consultancy on privacy, data protection and technology laws.
He was a key member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019, and the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Biodiversity Bill, 2021. He is also a member of the department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Forest, Environment and Climate Change and the Rajya Sabha Committee on Subordinate Legislation, the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on Public Undertakings.
