Former General Manager (Legal) at Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and banking and insolvency law expert Mukesh Chand has joined Economic Laws Practice (ELP) as a Partner..Chand is a 1985 graduate of Faculty of Law, Delhi University. With over 32 years of experience across the legal and banking areas, Chand has handled some of the biggest and most complicated cases of Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) and personal insolvency under the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code (IBC). Prior to his stint at SIDBI, he served with the Stressed Assets Resolution Group of State Bank of India, where he spearheaded legal strategies in handling IBC matters and made several representations before Parliamentary Committees and courts on important issues. At SIDBI, he was part of a team responsible for setting up and operationalizing India’s first Receivable Exchange, TReDs of Receivable Exchange of India Ltd (a joint venture of NSE and SIDBI)..Commenting on the new hire, Managing Partner Suhail Nathani said in a press release, “We are pleased to welcome Mukesh to the firm.
