Kerala Consumer Court orders caterers to pay ₹ 40k to consumer after food supplied at wedding causes diarrhea

The complaint was filed by a civil excise officer who claimed that he suffered from food poisoning after consuming catered food during a marriage reception.

A district consumer court at Ernakulam in Kerala recently directed a catering unit to pay ₹ 40,000 to a consumer who suffered from infective diarrhea and stomach discomfort after consuming the food supplied by the caterers during a wedding [Umesh V v. Vijayan George & Anr.].
