The Kerala High Court today allowed a bail application filed by prominent Malayalam actor Dileep in the sexual assault case he is implicated in, according to news reports..The matter came up for hearing today before Justice Sunil Thomas, who granted the actor bail on the condition that he deposits a security of Rs. 1 lakh. Further, he was directed to submit his passport to the Court, and undertake not to influence the investigation of the case..It was pointed out in his application that the investigation was practically complete, and all the witnesses were questioned and recovery was effected. It was alleged that the victim had a role to play in Dileep’s separation from his former wife. Further, Dileep faced allegations of hatching a conspiracy to take revenge on the victim by abducting her and taking nude photographs of her..Six persons were nabbed and arrayed as accused after the female actor was driven around in a car and sexually assaulted, allegedly at Dileep’s behest. The initial police report also suggests that an advocate was involved in the crime, although a separate charge sheet has been filed against him..Dileep was then arrested on July 10, charged with engaging the first accused to take nude photos of the victim, in exchange for Rs. 1.5 crore.
