Kerala High Court to examine measures to enable access for wheelchair users inside temples

A division bench of Justices Anil K Narendran and Harisankar V Menon initiated suo motu proceedings to consider the issue and appointed advocate V Ramkumar Nambiar as an amicus curiae to assist the Court.

The Kerala High Court recently decided that it will examine the feasibility of permitting persons who need to use wheelchairs to reach the sanctum sanctorum of temples so that they can get a proper darshan of the deity [Suo motu v. State of Kerala].
