Coronavirus: HPNLU, Shimla and NLU Delhi suspend classes for students

The National Law University, Delhi and the Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla have suspended classed for their students in view of the recent outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

HPNLU, Shimla has suspended classes till March 21 on following a directive issued by the University Chancellor and Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Justice L Narayana Swamy.

NLU Delhi has suspended classes till March 31 in view of a communication from the office of the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, ordering the closure of all educational institutions, except for conduction of examinations.

Following this directive, the NLU Delhi Teaching Department is also to remain closed till the end of the month. All students have been asked to vacate the hostels by March 14, Saturday.

It has however been notified that the offices of NLU Delhi will be functional as usual.

On Wednesday, the Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur also suspended classes until March 18 to guard against the spread of the epidemic.
